431 WORDS -- 2326 CHARACTERS Character + Template by BwncathLight and the distinguished sound of rail slammed into him like a tar bubble. It refused to pop- it tremored and it gleamed but when it did boy was it a nasty thing. There was no way he was getting up man! Why would he? It was wet outside- at least from the sounds of it! The ground was far more moist than it had been originally and his tail felt as if it'd been stripped of all its fur and gnawed at by carnivorous bugs. The bi-color was extremely comfortable resting on his back, regardless of the moisture, with a belly full of matted and untamed white fur, long since tainted with those itty-bitty particles of dirt. Try as he might, no tongue of his would be getting it out. "Nnnng!" He heaved a low sigh, muffled by the 'pitter-patter' of unsettled clouds, dragging his mossy eyes from one angled corner to another, he checked for the thin streams of leaks- but found none, their only opening was that window, cracked ages ago as far as he wasn't concerned! Hah! It's probably been like that since momma was around. Maybe even before- momma's momma? Woah- he didn't want to think that far, especially on the topic of mumsies. Dumb mumsies, lame mumsies- just like his own siblings! Wait- wait. Was that his stomach? Had he heard that right? Or was he going to be lunch for another? The sound of an upset stomach unfortunately had him fooled, but Wool's face contorted sharply as he slapped his paws on his stomach. Another exasperate huff rolled off his nose and into the cool air, swirling in a cloud as he sharked his head. Why was it raining? That- that was no good. The long-furred tom couldn't go and get food if it were raining. Nah-! All of the feathered and furry animals would be following his lead and sinking on their backs at this rate. Wool shoved his paws into the air, as high as he could press them though they didn't even scrape the noisy ceiling over him. "Oyyy- Rain! Go away!" But alas- no pea-sized ball of water in the sky would obey his cry, but it might've been enough to wake Beef- oh! Beef! Abruptly the tom slammed his thick legs to the ground, rolling to his side with a lousy speed very unlike a groggy kitten like himself. "Beef!" He demanded, tossing his head about their home- was she in there with him- or was she being a dumbie, splashing about in the rain.

"Shut up you stupid furball..." The smaller cat grumbled from the other end of their home. Her rest had been uneasy with the occasional rumble and clap of thunder, and as if the thunder hadn't been bad enough, whenever she did manage to fall asleep, Beef would wake up to someone's - not naming names - big dirty foot in her face. "Telling the rain to bug off won't make it go, doesn't have ears..." Being half asleep, and more than slightly annoyed, she grumpily rolled over further away from her den-mate. After but a moment, the younger of the two had fallen asleep once again. But only for a moment, thunder was still booming through the lands it seemed, and Beef was certain she wasn't going to be able to get any decent rest with it. "I'm up." Her words were awkward and somewhat mispronounced, as she sat up at the same time. Ech! My fur is damp and cold! Seems the world doesn't want me to rest! The soft kitten clumsily brought up her left paw to her face and gave it a rub, trying to get the blurriness out of her eyes. Is this what it's like to have bad eyes? She gingerly stood, yet her head was nowhere near to touching the ceiling of their little home, and stretched her body as much as she could, before she toppled over on to her side. She was often quite groggy in the morn, and especially clumsy when she didn't get enough sleep. "I'm huunngry!" the smaller whined. Her stomach felt as empty as a bird's nest in leafbare, but she was certainly not looking forward to trekking out in this weather. 343 WORDS -- 1931 CHARACTERS Character + Template by BwncathWhen he'd heard that just peachy little grumble seperate the brash metronome of rain and the silencer of solitude he perked up. Ah! Not a dummie! Good. Perhaps he should be thanking those damp skies (or- atleast the low growl of thunder!) for their service to him! Wool truly had expected the pour to cease sometime during the marauding night- but his hopes and dreams were crushed by resilience. But ah- no heavy clouds would break him from intrusive sleeping habits, of course. "That's what they always say." Something evasive burned inside that punch-groggy sleepy mouth. Maybe it was supposed to be the start to a grand tale or just a remark of spite for his friend- while it wasn't ill-intentioned. The tom had kept those youthful eyes fastened to the other with the moisture of sleep clouding his vision only vaguely. Blinking would (generally) fix that! As her head fell his followed- slinking back from the out-stretched alertness he had held earlier. "Come-on Beef." He softly plead. He was awake- so that meant no one was sleeping! Well- not right now the weren't. But, he wouldn't deny the she-cat her rest if she just asked, but he was the soft alarm clock, humming songs that have long since grown tiring. "Wha- are you?" With minimal intervention- perfect! His head swung loosely upward and again those legs of his extended and held in a testing stretch. There was satisfactory in being well mended, and the feeling of stretches in the morn' were something he found an almost unbelievable joy in. "You too?" He mumbled, moving his elongated toes towards her in an attempt to disturb her ear. Maybe the thunder hadn't shook her from rest- maybe it was his own belly? Maybe! "Well, it looks like we have either dirt, sky-tears, or grass. Take your pick!" A smooth chuckle rattled his languid position- take joke would be going in the books for sure! OOC;; Why not! I'll go 'head and give it a shot too.

She mainly ignored Wool. Beef didn't have the mental capacity to deal with his silliness at this time. However, when she did hear him listing off things to eat which weren't food, she stood up, fully awake this time, and ready to get a real meal. "We're gonna get some real food, okay? I'm actually really hungry, and I don't wanna hear your pea-brained jokes, not 'til I've got some food in me." The thought of going out into the wet, cold world was not appealing in the slightest, yet she was absolutely starving. Where to go, where to go? They were hiding from the rain, just as many of the other animals surely would be. Beef let out an odd and pathetic groan. "Where could we get us some grub, eh?" Her brain felt cooked and dead, not an ounce of intelligence or tolerance left in it. She began to groom herself while listening to the too-big tom.
