name explanation
CROW-: Named for his dark pelt that was even slightly long at birth, that reminded his mother of a crow.
-FANG: Due to him being skilled in both battling and hunting, the leader believed that -fang signified both of those skills.
appearance
Crowstar is a well sculpted tom-cat with broad shoulders and a solid body. He has a broad chest with long lean legs and a thick layer of muscle. For a wild cat, Crowstar is very large, and believed to be closely descended from a Maine Coon, having received the large build that the breed is recognized for. Crowstar weighs just over 16 pounds, not that he would know, but simply for the record. Making his rather heavy, but not fat, due to fat being very hard to find on the body of this tom, no, this weight is pure muscle. Also standing at the height of 12 inches tall, Crowstar is not short, and is definitely taller than the majority of his clan-mates as well as many other clan cats.
Covering Crowstar's strong body, is a layer of long soft fur. It is always silky and in the summer even when it sheds, Crowstar is still covered in a long tapering blanket of fur. He has a silky black coat, helping him to receive the prefix, Crow. In the winter when he has a thicker and fluffier pelt, his fur us overall lighter due to his soft undercoat poking through. White fur can be found on Crowstar's toes, chest, and his face.

personality
When it comes to Crowstar, emotions are definitely not his strong suite. The young tom finds it very hard to express him emotions to anyone, especially himself, leading him to keep many of his emotions and feelings bottled up and hidden away. This also leads Crowstar to seeming slightly distant and detached at times, constantly trying to figure out himself and how he feels. And although his plan of bottling everything up may work well for now, eventually they are all going to come out at once. Despite Crowstar having very little knowledge of himself and his emotions, he is very good at expressing his opinions on certain subjects that he feels passionately about, making him at times rather opinionated, and always wanting to express his opinions.
Being very opinionated, Crowstar is also very open-minded and curious when it comes to other cats opinions, wishing to learn more about the thought process of others, but he will also give his opinions in order to help others see his point of view. He loves knowing what others think in order to get the best outlook on a subject and may try and find a compromise. But, if the argument or discussion in fact based and has a distinct right or wrong answer, Crowstar will fight until the end to prove that he is right and the other cat is wrong, and not afraid to tell them that, along with explain in detail, no sugar-coating whatsoever, exactly why he is right. He is very bullheaded, stubborn, and blunt in this way. Not to mention he is very good at setting up rules and making decision for the good of his clan and those he cares about.
Crowstar also has a very hard time trusting others. This quality comes from an unknown place due to having not had a reason to not trust anyone until now. But Crowstar is always weary of others, and no matter who they are, usually has to determine whether or not he should trust them, even if they had been nothing but loyal to him in the past. Due to this, when Crowstar meets someone new, he is very weary upon meeting them, of course he never let's that show. He feels he has to stay strong for his clan, even though he isn't leading it.
At times, Crowstar can have a rather sarcastic nature and sharp tung. Although he is not short-tempered in any way, the large tom always has a way of adding a sarcastic comment somewhere, no matter how serious the situation may be, because in all honesty, Crowstar is not always the most serious cat. He almost always has a prominent sarcastic tone in his voice, and it can be hard at times to distinguish whether or not he is being serious or if he is simply being sarcastic. But believe me, when things get life-and-death, for the sake of his loved ones serious, there is no kidding around.
Now, if there is one thing Crowstar is, it's loyal. He would do just about anything possible for his clan and anyone in it. Even if a clan-mate is on his bad side, when it comes down to it, he would save their life in a heart-beat. And although he may not seem very forgiving and warm, Crowstar is a truly kind cat with a heart of gold. He would do anything to protect ShadowClan as well as stand against anyone who wishes to attempt to harm it or judge it.

Skills
Crowstar is a very skilled hunter as well as fighter, but not highly exceptional in either. His true skill lies in his ability to lead his clan and calm a crowd.
history
Thirty-six moons ago, there where two cats who weren't really in what one would call love. They had a sexual attraction for one another, but not that of love. This attraction mimics that of a husband and the woman he is cheating on his wife with, there is no love, at least not any love of the heart. They do not love each other at all, they simply have a sexual attraction for one another. These cats were called Buzzardflight and Shadeflower. This attraction lead to the birth of three beautiful kits; or not so beautiful in the eyes of their father, Buzzardflight. Who wanted very little to do with his two sons, Crowkit and Cranekit, as well as a daughter by the name of Swiftkit. Due to the fact that although he was attracted to their mother physically, he had no emotional connection to her, nor did he feel responsible for his offspring.
With their father paying very little attention to them, if any at all, Shadeflower felt that it wasn't necessary to disclose the name of the kits father to anyone, even the kits, she simply shrugged it off when someone asked who their father was and left it to be interpreted. Buzzardflight found this to be an acceptable arrangement due to his wanting to have nothing to do with them. Although this lead to much suspicion amongst the clan, leading them to believe they were half-clan or born of a non-clan father. Therefor, as a result of growing up with no father, Crowkit and his brother Cranekit found sanctuary and a father figure under the wing of their grandfather, Patchstorm. He was a seasoned warrior, and the only other cat who knew of their true father. Patchstorm was very sarcastic and blunt, traits that would end up rubbing off on his grandson Crowkit.
Becoming an apprentice was a very important moment for Crowpaw. He was given a senior warrior by the name of Shadeclaw as a mentor. Many apprentices wished him the best of luck, due to the fact that if there was one thing Shadeclaw was known for, it definitely was not his kindness. The large seasoned warrior was hard-working, and proved to be anything nut soft. Cranepaw on the other hand, was given a she-cat by the name of Turtlefoot. She was small, but a very skilled hunter. At first, Crowpaw fought Shadeclaw, he didn't understand who the tom was always so hard on him, and why they were always up before anyone else, and why he had to do duties everyday, when some apprentices only had to do them ever several days. Shadeclaw only answered with an angry growl of because he said so. And after four moons of this, Crowpaw stopped complaining and followed his mentor every wish with out complaint.
Shadeclaw must have appreciated Crowpaw's lack of complaining after that because he became more calm, and less critical over Crowpaw, which was a relief because Shadeclaw was always looking for perfection. If Crowpaw's paw was too extended while swiping, he would chew him out and make him fix it. Although Crowpaw didn't realize it, this hard training that Shadeclaw put him through helped him to become an even better warrior. That was why whenever Crowpaw spared his slightly larger brother, Cranepaw, Crowpaw was able to win due to his perfected skill taught to him by Shadeclaw. Therefor, not only did he pass his final assessment in both hunting and battling with flying colors, Mothstar complimented Crowpaw on his good work and commented that she saw great things in his future.
At his warrior ceremony, Crowpaw was accompanied by his brother Cranepaw named Craneflight, and Swiftpaw, named Swiftstep. While Mothstar found it somewhat hard to think of any name that fit Crowpaw and that reflected him as a warrior as well as that sounded interesting, Crowpaw was named Crowfang, due to his skill in hunting and fighting, and with the suffix -fang signifying both of these skills. Crowfang was also given the chance to train and sculpt the mind of a young cat five moons later. His apprentice was a somewhat small and fragile looking she-cat by the name of Mistypaw. Right from the start Crowfang saw potential in the young she-cat, and was determined to make her a great warrior even if others couldn't see past her size and strength. In the end, Crowfang prevailed, Mistypaw showed great heart and what she lacked in strength and size, made up for in tactfulness and speed. Mothstar was impressed not only by Mistypaw, who was named Mistyheart, but also by Crowfang who trained her so well.
After many moons of being a warrior, Crowfang was given the chance to be the deputy of ShadowClan after an infected rat bite killed the former deputy. Crowfang was thirty-six moons old, but already was a respected warrior of ShadowClan. He was left to run most of the camp by himself due to Mothstar's old age and lack of mobility. She was getting weak and after only four moons of being deputy, Crowfang was thrust into the position of leader after Mothstar's death. Although Crowstar was weary, he vowed to lead is clan well and has been for almost three moons.
